RSN Power Rankings (2/13)

Week 11

  1.  Gonzaga (26-0)                      gonzaga-logo

Gonzaga comfortably won at Saint Mary’s in what was likely their final realistic chance at a loss this season. Wouldn’t be a surprise to see the Bulldogs at #1 in our rankings for the remainder of the season.

2. Villanova (24-2)                        villanova_wildcats_logo

Last week’s ranking: 3 (UP 1)

The Wildcats easily took down Xavier on their home court this past week to take a commanding lead in the Big East. Up next are trips to DePaul and Seton Hall before returning home for a clash with Butler.

3.  Kansas (22-3)                            university_of_kansas_jayhawk_logo

Last week’s ranking: 2 (DOWN 1)

Once again bailed out by the referees to some degree, Kansas took down Texas Tech in a heartbreaker for the Red Raiders. Tonight the Jayhawks host West Virginia in a tune up for their trip to Baylor on Saturday.

After a two-game skid, the Bears bounced back with wins over Oklahoma State and TCU. A trip to Texas Tech tonight will help Baylor prepare for the huge matchup with Kansas on Saturday afternoon.

5.  Oregon (22-4)                          oregonducks-svg     

Last week’s ranking: 9 (UP 4)

Though losing at UCLA this past week, we feel that Oregon is the best team in the Pac-12. A win at USC got Oregon back on track as they return home for a two-game slate against Utah and Colorado.

Last week’s ranking: 6 (-)

After getting decimated at Oregon, Arizona returned this week with two home wins over Stanford and California. The Wildcats’ defense was stellar in their tie with the Golden Bears as they held Ivan Rabb to just 4 points.

7. UCLA (23-3)                              ucla_bruins_logo

Last week’s ranking: 12 (UP 5)

After a two-game lull, the Bruins are back in business and riding a four-game winning streak. The Bruins host USC on Saturday in an attempt to get to 11-3 in conference play. The remaining schedule is relatively unchallenging other than a road trip to Arizona on February 25th.

8. Louisville (20-5)                      i

Last week’s ranking:  7 (DOWN 1)

A marquee matchup between two teams from the old Big East takes place tonight as the Cardinals visit Syracuse. Louisville currently sits at 8-4 in ACC play and in a tie for third place overall.

Last week’s ranking:  5 (DOWN 4)

It was a quiet schedule for the Tar Heels this past week with just one game on their slate. A trip to in-state rival NC State on Wednesday leads up to home matchups with Virginia and Louisville.

Last week’s ranking:  13 (UP 3)

Kansas State came to town for a date with the Mountaineers and kept it close for as long as they could. In a game that was tied at halftime, West Virginia blew it open in the second half and took care of the Wildcats. A trip to Allen Fieldhouse looms as West Virginia re-enters our top 10.

13. Florida State  (DOWN 2)

14. Purdue  (UP 6)

15. Wisconsin  (DOWN 5)
